Ana Paula de la O Campos - FAO

Friday, Septmeber 23
1:00-2:30
Kroon Hall, room 106

Join us for an intimate discussion with Ana Paula de la O Campos of the FAO's Gender, Equity and Rural Employment Division. She will provide an overview of how the industrial food system affects land tenure, household and wage labor, and family nutrition. She will be speaking from a global perspective and largely focusing on women in agriculture. After her brief comments, we want you to participate in brainstorming how to empower women in agriculture. How can we measure empowerment besides using economic productivity? Are there metrics more suited to female experiences? We will aim to end the session with a short list of research questions – one of which just might be your next project!
